The
year is 1844. A young British Army
Officer ,Thomas Collins ,is sent by
the Foreign Office in London to the fledgling Republic of Texas. His
mission
is to meet with the legendary President Samuel Houston, hero of the fight
for
independence from Mexico, to negotiate terms for the British
Empire`s
involvement in his country. At stake is Cotton, much needed for Britain`s
expanding industry.
What Thomas finds there is a world of subterfuge and danger. The Republic
is
scourged by an implacable and deadly enemy - The Comanche Nation - for
who rape, pillage and bloody warfare is a way of life. The country is
also torn
by various dissenting factions, all of which have differing and
conflicting goals
for the young Nation. All however , are united against the return of
Mexican
tyranny.
Through all this turmoil Thomas travels, finding love, friendship, and
great
peril along the way .Until finally he has to make the greatest decision
of his life.
One that could have devastating consequences, both for himself and
the
woman that he loves.
